As the holidays rapidly approached this year, I was trying to think of how Grupe Huber and University Park could give back to our community of Stockton.  I received an email from the Salvation Army of Stockton requesting support for their annual toy and food drive. In the email, there was a video (linked here) of the Salvation Army located on E. Weber Avenue, our neighbors at University Park, mentioning the increased need this year due to the global pandemic.

I immediately knew we had to participate.

We were so encouraged when after letting our tenants know that we would be hosting a barrel for toy donations in the Grupe Huber office, that two of our tenants, Valley Mountain Regional Center and Hanger Clinic agreed to collect toys this year and Bread Of Life donated 18 boxes of nonperishable food.

This will be the first year that our company, Grupe Huber, can do something as a team at our headquarters in University Park. This toy drive was an opportunity for us to come together as a company and celebrate the joy that we have working together along with the joy that comes from working together to support something much bigger than the scope of our company’s work.

Through these toys, we hope we will brighten the lives of a family that lives near us, help make their holiday a little more normal or cheerful, and let them know that there are people in the community that care for them.

For those who are willing and able, we hope that you consider giving back to your community this holiday season. If you would like to join us in supporting our local Salvation Army of Stockton, you can do so by clicking here

We hope you stay safe and spread joy where you can!
